Timp Caves

It has been years ... as in elementary school since I have hiked to Timp Caves. We got pretty much the whole family together to make the trip. It was very fun. I had forgotten how up that hike is. The caves are exactly what I remember them being. A very fun day with the family.

Orange Room!

A while back I mentioned that I was painting my guest room orange. Well here it is. It is my travel room. The pictures are of some of the places I have been. The world map has dots where I have visited. On the wall that you can't see are clocks with different time zones. It is so bright and cheery! I love it. I should show this picture to the guy at Home Depot who thought I was crazy when I asked for this color. He kept asking me if I was sure.
So if you ever need a place to stay ... I have a very orange room ready for you!

4th of July (final)

Throughout all my travels around the world one of the greatest things I have acquired is my love and appreciation for this country. I feel incredibly blessed to live in the United States of America! This is where my love of the 4th of July begins. There is something very patriotic about parades, family and friends gathering, BBQ's, and fireworks. But more importantly it is a day to remember our freedom. To honor those who have and are fighting to preserver that freedom. A day to remember what a blessing it is to live in this country. A blessing that most of us take very much for granted. I just love everything the 4th of July stands for!
God Bless America!

4th of July (part 4)

The best part of the whole day!
Culd-de-sac of fire!
The street was painted, scaffolding set, street light covered, speakers tested, finale surprise in place.
The stage was set for an incredible show!
There were fabulous firework! A candy walk and sparkler parade for the kids. A dance performance by the Fire Dancers 550 South. Patriotic music. It was simply the best culd-de-sac of fire anyone has ever seen! The surprise finale .... well you will just have to watch this video to find out.

Our cake was the best .... you can't really tell from the pics but it is a battle scene.
Our models were fantastic!

4th of July!!! (part 1)

There is no messing around when it comes to the 4th of July with my family. This year was NO exception! Preparation started early .... oh you know it is going to be great when you drive up and the culd-de-sac is blocked off because it is being painted. The day only got better from there. The street light had to be covered. Thank Jon for risking your life to make culd-de-sac of fire amazing!
The "Fire Dancers 550 South" got together for one last run through. Emily did a great job as director. Yep ... that is a diagram of the culd-de-sac so we would know exactly where we should be.
The kids started off the fun with a cake walk.
Ok, here we go ... it is time for the games. Just for fun? No way! There is a trophy involved.
