MJ Memorial Ride

When Hun (Cass) and I were texting this morning, deciding if we were going to go on a ride, she said only if we can dedicate our ride to MJ!Sari, Cass, Laura (next door neighbor)
We dedicated our morning bike ride to Michael. When it started to sprinkle rain drops ... we were pretty sure those were angels tears! You will notice that Cass and I are each wearing one glove ....
Have I mentioned how much I L O V E my bike!

Rest in Peace MJ

We will all remember where we were when we heard the news, "Michael Jackson died!" I was under the hair dryer at the salon. It is a sad, sad day. I REALLY wanted to see him in concert, I totally admit .. I heart MJ! I'm not afraid or ashamed to admit that I have some of his greatest songs on my Ipod shuffle and they are great to run to! There is nothing like a good MJ song to lift you up when you are down. Thanks Michael for the music, the memories! Bless his heart ... and his little nose too!

Girly Girl

How to pick the right color finger nail polish.

I have a great friend, Staci, who is the perfect "girly" friend. If ever you need a girls night out that might involve shopping, pedicures, makeup, shoes, or manicures she is the perfect friend for the job! I thoroughly enjoy my evenings out with her, including this one where we tried on about every color finger nail polish this store had. How else do you find the perfect color? How I adore you Staci!

What the ??? Who the ???

Have you ever thought to yourself ... I wonder what would happen if ....
As I was walking out of a Subway Restaurant the door swung back and caught my foot (which hurts really bad for just a few minutes) and then I got in the car and sat for about 45 minutes? Well I thought I would find out for you ... and this is what happens!

You get a really big hematoma! When you look down and see this giant golf ball growing out the side of your foot you might want to freak out and assume that you have broken your foot until you realize that you have been walking around for about five minutes before you even noticed the growth!
First call your ever so smart nurse sister-in-law. She will tell you that eventually the blood will absorb and you will end up with a very swollen, bruised, sore foot!
As I was freaking out ... some of my first thoughts were, "NO! not my foot!" "Please don't let my foot be hurt!" "How am I going to run and bike?!?" Which leads me to my next thoughts ...

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME? WHO AM I?

That is what I was thinking/freaking out about? Really?
This little incident happened on my way to St. George. I was going to be there one night, just over 24 hours. Not only did I pack my running clothes, but I actually got up (at 6:30) the one morning I was there (after a very late night) (with an injured foot) and went running! What? Weird! Seriously ... Who am I?

I think my foot is going to be fine! Thank goodness!!!

Sari, Kimi D, Ashley Shupe, funny Tony Cox

One of my FAVORITE events of the summer is the Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband concert (I heart these boys!) at the Sandy Amphitheatre. Summer has officially begun with this show. There always seems to be a threat of rain, but it never does. It has been the same group of friends going together for years ... like maybe 6 years? There are some things that never seem to change. If this is one of them than I am one lucky girl!

And the winner is ....

It is time to pick a Give-Away winner! I guess I should have clarified that I would randomly pick a winner! With the help of my assistant, Clementine, I put every name in the bowl .... and we picked a name ....
and the winner is .....Sue Ann!
There is no one that has been more supportive of me and everything I do than this wonderful woman. I am thrilled that my bowl will be used and loved in her home!
Oh that was so much fun! Let's do it again soon.

5 mile run today!
I did it about 2 minutes faster than last time. But more importantly I felt better! Slowly but surly I am making progress.
A great way to start my day!

Summer Give-Away!

Let's do a give-away ... shall we? This is one of the last projects I pulled out of the kiln before closing up the for the summer. I think it is so pretty and just want someone special to have it! It is about 4 1/2 inches tall
and 7 inches wide. If you would like to enter the give-away just leave a comment. I will pick a winner in one week. Will it be you? I sure hope so!

Summer Sari!

Another year, school year that is, has come to an end. I made it through my 7th year of teaching! It was an interesting year. I took on some new challenges and had some interesting experiences. My 7th year will definitely go down as one of my more challenging years in education. I seem to have been sucked into the world of committees and leadership. For example, I am on the faculty council, the department chair, mentor coordinator, and a new teacher mentor. Those are on the school level. I am the Content Specialist for the Fine Arts for the School District and last I am on the State Wide Art Partnership Board. Oh yeah, somewhere in there I am also a teacher! I had two student teachers this year to help ease the burden of me being gone all the time for the many, many, many meetings I attend. It really was a crazy year. BUT NOW .... it is behind me and I am Summer Sari! Summer break is an absolute necessity for teachers. We need to recoup and recharge for the next year. Seriously, this job sucks the life out of you! So, I have my list of summer projects that I want to get done. It took all of .... one day for me to get into my summer schedule. I LOVE summer break! I fully intend on making this a great summer!
