I {HEART}

A couple things I am loving right now ...
Evan Healy skin care line.
I love every product in this line. If you are looking a natural (no nasty oils or preservatives) you will love this brand. I really love doing the clay mask.

Anthropologie butter dish
Jennie D. gave me this treasure for my birthday. It just makes me smile. Who knew a butter dish could bring such joy. It's the simple things in life.
Mini Bobby pins!
Did you already know about these? Beck introduced them to me. They are half the size of regular bobby pins. They just might change your life!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Blendtec blender! This thing is AWESOME. It is so much more than a blender ... in fact they really should not even call it that. I used it on Sunday to grind my Kamut and Spelt for bread. It makes the greatest smoothies. I am telling you this thing is the greatest kitchen appliance.

Mmm Mmm Good!

Finally ... here it is!

Granola

5 c rolled oats
1 c sesame seeds
1c slivered almonds
1 c sunflower seeds
1c non-instant non fat dried milk (I found some at Good Earth)
1 c shredded coconut
1 c wheat germ
1 c honey
1 c safflower oil

In a 9x13 baking dish combine all dry ingredients. Pour honey and safflower oil over top. Mix to coat dry ingredients.

Bake at 325 F for 45 min. Stir every 10-15 minutes.

NOTE: leave out any of the nuts you don't like .... add those you do. I add pumpkin seeds, cashews, flax seeds. I am pretty generous with the honey. I like it crunchy so I bake it a little longer. You can also add cinnamon.

WARNING: While this granola is super healthy ... it isn't exactly low cal or low fat. It is so yummy that you will find yourself eating a lot of it! Beware!

20+10+6

In the spirit of denial I ran away to California for my birthday. Jennie and I took a little road trip to Solvang for the day. We had a lovely time chatting, walking around, eating some yummy food. Jennie is the perfect birthday hostess, she didn't tell anyone it was my birthday! The day came and went without too much distress. Phew!
Oh Thomas!
Right there in Solvang was a Thomas Kinkade Gallery complete with a Thomas out front. (barf!)
Birthday MIRACLE!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
2011!
We said good bye (without too much hesitation) to 2010 and rang in 2011 at a "raging" party!
chug that Martinelli's!
We know how to have a good time!

The weekend was topped off with a day in Santa Monica. It was a FABULOUS day!
